Naked

I see a lot of nakedness these days and I wonder where the hell our clothes have gone. Aha! Yes…I got you there and before you nod your head to concur on this one, please take one close look at yourself. How much of you do you think you have covered up? Do you sincerely believe the real you has been covered up because you have on a Kaftan or an Abaya? Oh well, if you think nudity is about the clothes you wear then you really need to read this.

So many times people have subconsciously sold out a piece of their clothing for an exchange that really isn’t  worth it, only to find themselves naked and exposed at the end of the day with nothing to cover them up or shield them from the harsh conditions of life being as unfair as it is. This thus brings me to ask you, yes you reading this piece right now, just how much of your privacy have you exposed to the world? And for what really?

What if you have got a huge health problem and need help, do you think telling everyone with ears is the help you need? Is that the same as seeking help through the right channels? When the chips are really down would these ears become doctors or the millions you need at that point?

Whatever happened to the work place being what it should be? I mean, what happens if you had a rough night? Do I have to know? If for some reason you consider me a friend enough to let me know, why does every Tom, Dick and Harry have to be in the know too?

It is bad enough that people stare anyway, is it not worse to have them staring because they can see right through you? Someone might say ‘Oh, I only told my Pastor or my spiritual leader or my best friend’. Well I am all for: ‘a problem shared being half solved’ but please put a lid on it, exercise some level of control when sharing. You have lost a whole lot if not your entire clothing, that level of mystery that should make you stand out, that piece of clothing, that secrecy you should have shared with no other but God is now been paraded inOffice kitchens, Church lobbies, Training centres, all because you failed to realize your value.

Please stop! Right now, this moment, please stop! Because you have become naked! You have lost it all in exchange for people’s acceptance and pity. The fact that there are people who seem to have been born solely for the purpose ofstripping friends and colleagues and church members off every piece of their clothing that makes them who they are, isn’t lost on me. For such people all I can say is I can’t deal with them today!

Today is about you and how you can fix you. First you need to realize:
You started out wrong
Not everyone is your friend
Not everyone deserves to know about ‘it’
Pity can get you no where
Family at some point means best friend and or spouse and offspring only

With the above out of the way, you also need to realize that your issues are your clothes and for every personal information you put out there, is a piece of your clothing gone and a part of your body exposed. Like a lady who decides to wear cropped top and pants, has made a conscious effort to bare just her mid riff, you can always choose to let someone in on your life or not to.

In reality, it is rather almost impossible to completely cover it all, you would need a confidant at some point. But then, the key is Wisdom and Moderation.  Pick your confidante wisely. You are in control so do not give anyone the power to strip you…You don’t have to be NAKED!
