We Won’t Allow Insecurity Escalate in North - Governor Masari

Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State has said that serious efforts are on to bring to an end cases of banditry, kidnappings and other criminalities in the North-West region of Nigeria.

Governor Masari who made the declaration Wednesday, while speaking to State House Correspondents, after he met privately with President Muhammadu Buhari, said the government will not allow the situation to escalate to something like the boko haram menace in the North-Eastern part of the country as the government is determined to contain the situation.

The Governor stressed that although the rainy season has set in and can pose a challenge to the fight against bandits, the government is determined to conquer them adding that criminal activities would not affect agricultural activities in Katsina state as they expect a bumper harvest this year.

Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that Governor Masari noted that State governments in the affected areas are also waiting for the military to take total control of the forests and other affected areas before they can roll out their good plans for the people affected by banditry.
